about me

Master of none or...

Well first and foremost, hi!

My name is Maddie, and here’s the run down of myself.  My husband Steve and I got married in 2019 and we have a beautiful little mini poodle named Melon, and we are currently in Southern Idaho for Steve’s internship.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and graduated in 2020 (let your imagination run wild with how that went down). I’m from Southern Arizona and the oldest of four. One of my biggest dreams in life is to have my own farm with all the trimmings. A giant garden, chickens, pigs, a milk cow, honeybees, etc.  I dream of a place to call my own, and live out my crunchy farm girl dreams!

...JACK OF ALL TRADES?

With all of that said,  I have always had my toes dipped in several pools of interests. Let me prattle off a few for ya:

Knitting and crochet, swimming, reading, photography, scientific research, health and fitness, snorkeling, baking and cooking, ancestral living, homesteading, writing, canning, travel, gardening, watercolor, home design, and now blogging!

And the list goes on, and on. If I applied myself in just one of these many hobbies, I could probably be a professional by now. But my joy comes from learning as much as I can in this life! I can’t help but feel in todays society we are punished for that. If you can’t make money from, or be an expert in your field, then what’s the point?

I am here to dash those ideologies, and give you permission to be radically yourself! To be the dog walking, poetry writing, taxidermist you are! Without pressure, and without judgement.

✻My goal with this little blog is to share what I love, and to open your eyes to new hobbies. You can have multiple fields of passion and enjoy being good at them, without being a bonafide expert. ✻
